Police in Kasungu have arrested Happy Mchemani and Chifuniro Lemani on suspicion of stealing cattle.

According to police spokesperson Joseph Kachikho, the suspects allegedly stole cattle belonging to Samson Karonga of Mchemani Village on Monday this week.

Kachikho said that when Karonga discovered that his cattle were missing, he alerted his relatives, and together they followed the cattle’s tracks.

“While searching, a friend of Karonga informed them that he had seen a man with a cow at Ng’ombe School in the district, where people rushed and arrested the two suspects,” he said.

Police have since indicated that the suspects will be taken to court to answer charges of cattle theft.
