Man Commits Suicide by Throwing Himself In Shire In Neno

An unidentified man is reported to have died by suicide after allegedly throwing himself into the Shire River in Neno District.
Neno Police Public Relations Officer, Rebecca Msoliza, said the incident occurred at Zalewa on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
According to Msoliza, eyewitnesses said the man appeared distressed before he jumped into the river. He was reportedly wearing a grey weather coat and a pair of green trousers at the time of the incident.
Police have since intensified the search for the man’s body.
Authorities have not yet released further details, and investigations are ongoing.
