Four men are in police custody at Lingadzi Police Station in Lilongwe in connection with theft and robbery incidents in Mtandire and surrounding areas.

Deputy Public Relations Officer for Lingadzi Police Station, Sergeant Glory Ngwira, confirmed the arrests, saying the suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-driven ambush and raid operation conducted in Mtandire, Senti and Mtsiriza following a rise in reported criminal activities, particularly robbery and motorcycle theft cases.

Ngwira identified the suspects as Lameck Eleneyo, Gift Honde, Mike Chikatentha and Brian Malikoto.

“The operation was jointly conducted by detectives from Lingadzi Police Station and officers from Bingu National Stadium Police Unit, led by the Station Criminal Investigations Officer (SCIO),” she said.

According to police, Lameck Eleneyo and Gift Honde are being charged with theft of a motorcycle. The two allegedly stole a King Lion motorcycle on February 13, 2026. The motorcycle has since been recovered.

Meanwhile, Mike Chikatentha was arrested for allegedly stealing building materials, while Brian Malikoto is in custody on robbery allegations involving a stolen mountain bike, which has also been recovered.
