The High Court in Blantyre has failed to deliver a ruling today on whether Dutch national Wim Akster has a case to answer in a matter involving alleged sexual abuse of young boys.
In a notice issued to the State, the court indicated that proceedings will resume on the 4th of next month. However, it did not explain the reasons for the postponement.
The State, represented by prosecutor Victor Jere, recently concluded presenting its evidence in the case. What remains is for the court to determine whether Akster has a case to answer or should be discharged.
Akster has denied the allegations. The case continues to draw public attention as the court prepares to make its determination next month.
