19-Year-Old Suspect Dies in Nzedi Police Cell

A 19-year-old suspect who was being held in custody at Nzedi Police Station has died while in a police cell, authorities have confirmed.
In an interview, Beatrice Mikuwa, spokesperson for Malawi Police Service in Blantyre, said the deceased has been identified as Nicolas Mussa.
Mikuwa said Mussa was facing robbery-related charges at the time of his detention.
She added that police are awaiting postmortem results to establish the exact cause of death.
