Two Arrested Over Lilongwe Girls Cemetery Robbery

Police in Lilongwe have arrested two more suspects in connection with a violent robbery that left two people seriously injured.
National Police spokesp7erson Bruno Munlo Makina and Eric Phakamisa are accused of abducting two victims from the Kamuzu Central Hospital Roundabout before assaulting them at Lilongwe Girls Cemetery.
According to police reports, the two suspects allegedly acted in concert with eight accomplices who are still at large.
The gang is said to have hacked the victims and robbed them of two mobile phones, a pair of shoes and K270,000 in cash.
The victims were reportedly left with serious injuries following the attack.
Makina and Phakamisa have since been formally charged with robbery and acts intended to cause grievous harm.
Police say efforts are underway to trace and arrest the remaining suspects.
All those implicated in the matter are expected to appear in court soon to answer their respective charges.
