Police in Karonga launch manhunt for suspect accused cutting off business partner’s hand

Police in Karonga have launched a manhunt for Robert Mwangobola, who is suspected of cutting off the hand of his business partner, Jamaica Mwafulirwa at Mwahimba Village on Tuesday.
Karonga Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer, Margret Msiska Ngulube, said the attack occurred on 3 March, 2026, following a business dispute in which the suspect allegedly accused the victim of embezzling K15 million.
“Mwangobola ambushed the victim while he was on his way home and attacked him with a sharp panga knife, completely severing his left hand and inflicting multiple deep cuts to the head,” she said.
Mwafulirwa is currently receiving treatment at Karonga District Hospital
