Mzuzu Police Nab Two Suspects Linked to Ekwendeni Thefts

Police in Mzuzu have apprehended two suspects linked to burglary and theft cases at Ekwendeni Trading Centre and the Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences campus in Mzimba District.
Mzuzu Police Station Assistant Publicist, Sergeant Edson Chipeni, has identified the suspects as Khumbo Mtete (18) and Maxwell Mkandawire (18), both from the area of Inkosi Mtwalo in Mzimba.
Sergeant Chipeni said the duo allegedly broke into houses and student hostels, stealing valuable items including laptops and cellphones.
He further explained that police officers have so far managed to recover some of the stolen items, including a 32-inch JV TV screen, a laptop computer, and several cellphones (Samsung, Tecno Spark, Huawei, and Itel).
He has since indicated that the suspects have admitted to the crimes and will appear in court soon once investigations are concluded.
