25 Year Old Man Arrested For Having Sexual Intercourse With Standard 3 Pupil in Chitipa

Police in Chitipa have arrested a 25 year old Hastings Msango for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a Standard 3, girl aged 14.
According to Assistant Public Relations Officer for Chitipa Police Station, Sergeant Mathews Mfune, he said the event occurred at Katawa Village in Wenya on February 28, 2026 when the victim went to fetch firewood in a nearby bush where the victim found the suspect armed with a knife.
It is alleged that the suspect forced the victim to have sexual intercourse, threatening her with a knife if she screams or resisted and the victim complied out of fear before warning her not to report the incident to anyone.
Later, the victim’s elder sister noticed that her sister is looking sleepy and weak, it’s when she narrated the incident after being questioned.
The matter was reported to Wenya Police Unit who issued a medical report and referred her to Wenya Health Centre for examination where the results confirmed the incident occurred and further examination revealed that the victim was pregnant.
Msango is expected to appear before the court soon to answer the charges of having sexual intercourse with a minor.
