Teacher Feared Dead After Being Swept Away by Floods in Chikwawa

Information reaching this publication indicates that a teacher at Kubalalika Primary School in Chapananga, Chikwawa, is feared dead after being swept away by flood waters yesterday.
The incident reportedly occurred as the teacher attempted to cross a flooded area.
An eyewitness, Kingsley Joseph, says the teacher was on his way to Changoima Teachers Development Centre.
He explained that the teacher was expected to take part in an ongoing head count exercise in the district.
According to the eyewitness, the water current was too strong, leading to the teacher being swept away.
The teacher’s identity has not yet been disclosed as authorities work to confirm details.
