Man Arrested in Kasungu for Allegedly Stealing Motorcycle from Zambia

Police in Kasungu District have arrested 25-year-old Yamikani Phiri on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle from Zambia and bringing it into Malawi.
Deputy police spokesperson Miracle Hauli said Phiri was arrested in Kasungu Town while attempting to sell the motorcycle.
Hauli said that when questioned about the bike’s origin, Phiri admitted to stealing it from his employer in Zambia. The employer has since identified the motorcycle as his.
Phiri, who hails from Kabamphere Village in the area of Senior Chief Wimbe in the district, is expected to appear in court soon.
