Old Mutual launches the Pink Potential Development Programme for female employees

As one way of ensuring that women are not left out when it comes to leadership roles within the company, Old Mutual Malawi has launched the Pink Potential Development Programme.
The 3 day training programe which is for female workers has brought together 33 female employees from various Business Units and focuses on leadership development, improved performance, and building confidence in the workplace.
Speaking during the launch, Old Mutual Malawi Chief Financial Officer Vera Zulu said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to empowering women in leadership.
“As a woman leader, it is my passion to help other women rise. At Old Mutual, we are committed to advancing gender equity and equipping women to take up diverse leadership roles,” she said.

On her part Sarah Richson, a facilitator from Richemele International said the program is aimed at helping female workers how they can balance office work and family responsibilities.
“Through this training am hoping that women will become better leaders and at the same time balancing the office work and family responsibilities while at the same time avoiding the burnout,” said Richson.
One of the participants Rita Shaba from finance department at Old Mutual hailed the company for the initiative, saying the skills obtained from the training will help her in attaining a leadership role within the company.
The program will run for 1 year, according to Sarah Richson.
