Malawi Muslims to Celebrate Eid on Saturday as Moon Not Sighted

Muslims in Malawi will not celebrate Eid today after the National Moon Sighting Committee (NMC) announced that the Shawwal 1447 moon has not been sighted.
In a statement released earlier, the committee confirmed that the absence of the moon means that Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will now be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
This marks the official end of the holy month of Ramadan, which began on February 18
