Iran and the United States have agreed to a proposed two-week ceasefire.
Donald Trump says he supports the ceasefire on the condition that shipping traffic is allowed to move freely through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran will agree to halt fighting if attacks against Iran are stopped.
Israel says it supports Trump’s decision to suspend strikes on Iran, but notes that the two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon, while Pakistan’s prime minister says it does.
The US president had set a deadline of 20:00 EDT (01:00 BST), warning that failure to reach a deal could have catastrophic consequences.
Pakistan, which has been acting as a mediator, has called on Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks and has invited both sides to talks in Islamabad on Friday.
