Man Arrested For Defiling 5-Year-Old Niece in Chitipa

Police in Chitipa are keeping a 17-year-old, in custody for allegedly defiling his five-year-old niece.

Chitipa Police Deputy spokesperson, Mathews Mfune, said the incident occurred this month, and the suspect, was alone with her in a house when he forced her into sexual intercourse and threatened to kill her if she disclosed the act.

The victim’s mother discovered bruises and bloodstains on her daughter while walking together on April 10.

Upon questioning, the girl then revealed her uncle had assaulted her and warned her to keep quiet.

Mfune added that medical tests confirmed that sexual intercourse had taken place.
