Delayed Justice: Court Discharges Two Men Accused of Stealing 400 Litres of Fuel

The Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court in Mangochi has discharged Richard Duncan and Bonface Felix after the State failed to proceed with their trial for several months.
The two, who were security guards at Njeleza Cement Product Limited, were arrested in April 2025 over allegations of stealing about 400 litres of fuel.
Their lawyer argued that the prolonged delays violated their right to a fair and timely trial.
The court agreed and ordered their discharge.
