A Malawian police officer identified as Fellie Chambala has become the subject of intense discussion on social media after sharing an extensive birthday wishlist that has drawn mixed reactions from the public.

Fellie who is set to turn 25 on June 9, posted the wishlist online, asking followers to tag several prominent figures and well-wishers in hopes of receiving gifts and support.

Among the items on her list were a birthday message from celebrities, a new smartphone, a laptop for her studies, tuition and accommodation support, cash gifts, clothes, shoes, a dinner with the Inspector General of Police, an air ticket, shopping vouchers, and a surprise birthday party.

The post quickly went viral, attracting both criticism and support.

Some Netizens have accused Fellie of using online platforms to seek financial assistance in a manner they consider inappropriate, while others argue that the post was simply a light-hearted birthday wish and a creative way of engaging with friends and followers.

Others have encouraged her to focus on working towards her goals independently, while some defended her right to publicly share her wishes, noting that many people use social media to seek assistance or celebrate personal milestones.

The officer, who is reportedly pursuing studies at DMI-St John The Baptist University and is a mother of one, has not publicly responded to the debate generated by her post.

As discussions continue online, opinions remain divided, with some viewing the wishlist as harmless fun and others describing it as a modern form of online begging or attention-seeking.
