Former Deputy Speaker Jones Chingola Dies

Information reaching this publication indicates that former Ntcheu Central Constituency Member of Parliament and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Honourable Jones Chingola, has died.
Chingola passed away this morning at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe after a prolonged illness.
His son, Jones Chingola Jnr, confirmed the death, saying his father had been battling stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure since 2012.
According to Chingola Jnr, arrangements are underway to transfer the body to Mthunzi Mortuary before it is transported to the family’s home village in Ntcheu District tomorrow.
He added that burial is expected to take place on Friday.
The late Hon. Jones Chingola served as Member of Parliament for Ntcheu Central Constituency and as First Deputy Speaker of Parliament between 2009 and 2014.
