MPICO Plc Registers Mk19 Billion Profit in 2025

Malawi Property Investment Company (Mpico Plc), has registered a profit of Mk19 billion in 2025 up from K12 billion in 2024 financial year.

The company’s General Manager, Stella Sokosa disclosed this in Blantyre on Monday during a stakeholders meeting which the company organized.

Sokosa attributed the success to higher rental income and property fair value gains.

However government rental arrears rose to K7.24 billion as of 31 December, 2025.

“Prospects for this year are on students accommodation which is becoming attractive in locations near public and private universities. However the developments are largely undertaken by small to medium investors”, said Sokosa.

According to the Mpico General Manager , the enactment of the 2024 Sectional Titles Act where a person owns a specific unit within a large building or development, together with a shared interest in common areas may boost the real estate sector by stimulating growth, maximizing land use and improving urban development as well as modernization.

On his part, one of the Shareholders Ekari Magola applauded MPICO for organizing such engagement.

“Honestly this engagement is an eye opener to me and urge the company to continue doing so,” said Magola.

He the urged the company increase its visibility.

Mpico is one of the country’s largest property holding company and is the subsidiary of Old Mutual Group.
