
Mangochi residents riot over election dissatisfaction

UDF, PP and MCP supporters are protesting in Mangochi following dissatisfaction with the elections. The demonstrators are attempting to present a petition to the District Commissioner calling for re-election.
The protesters stoned the police station in the district causing police to retaliate and fire teargas which has led to six students from St Monica School collapsing and being rushed to Mangochi District Hospital.
Two policemen and a civilian have also been reported injured in the chaos and are receiving treatment.
