As the battle for politicians came to an end yesterday evening following the release of election results for Member of Parliament and Local Government, Malawians were shocked to hear the name of Former Malawi first lady Patricia Shanil Dzimbiri being among the successful MPs.
She will represent people from Balaka west constituency in parliament as an independent legislator.
Dzimbiri was married to former president Dr Bakili Muluzi and later the two separated.
The former Malawi first lady is among the 30 women who have made it to Parliament.
