MANEB YET TO PAY ALLOWANCES OF POLICE OFFICERS WHO PROVIDED SECURITY IN PSLC EXAMS

Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) has not yet paid allowances of police officers who provided security during Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination (PSLC)in Nsanje.

The officers revealed this in an interview and they have threaten to boycott the forthcoming exams .

“We are very worried with the development of not paying us in time and full. We question the payment of our money in bits as we expected the Malawi National Examination Board to discharge full allowances at once.

“It is very sad to be experiencing these problems when there are still more two examinations that will need our services. Let us put it straight here that we will be reluctant to provide our services for the next examinations,” they said.

Speaking in an interview,MANEB Public Relations Officer Simeon Maganga said the institution is aware of the problem.

“We failed to pay the officers their full allowances at once owing to insufficient financial resources nevertheless the institution could not afford to send them out without giving them anything,” said Magaga.

Meanwhile Maganga has assured the police officer that their problem will soon be resolved.
