EXCLUSIVE: MBC’S PETER FOTE TRIED TO SALE FLAMES GAME TO BENIN, BANNED FOR LIFE

Face of Malawi has exclusively gotten hold of the news that a journalist with the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation and enthusiastic commentator Peter Fote tried to sale the Flames game to its counterparts,Benin.

The exclusive information that FOM has show that Fote, a journalism graduate of the now defunct Blantyre College of Journalism which was owned by current Minister of Information Kondwani Nankhumwa, wanted to alert the Benin team of the weak points of the Flames which Benin was to capitalise on and therefore defeat the Flames.

Fote had written a text message to a Benin FA official advising him that he had secrets of the Flames which he could give to them over a payment. Unfortunately, Fote had wrongly sent the message to a Flames player who circulated it around the Flames camp.

It is alleged that Fote had gotten the number of the official when he had gone there for interviews.

When FAM got hold of the news, it has been said that a hurried meeting was convined in which it was agreed that Fote should be banned from all football related activities owing to his lack of patriotism.

Fote traveled with the team and eventually was considered as part of the team when they went to Benin and must certainly have known the weak spots of the team.

Meanwhile, it is yet to be known how his employer will react to the news as pressure is mounting on FAM to disclose the reasons as to why they have suspended Fote from football activities to his employers.
