MAN KILLED OVER WAGES

A 38-year old man in Lilongwe is in Police custody for allegedly murdering Gift Manda, 36 over wages.

Lilongwe Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Maggie Selemani confirmed of the development and identified the suspect as Hamilton Zimba from Dunga Village in Traditional Authority Mwase in Kasungu.

“Two weeks ago Zimba employed Manda to do a peace work in Area 9 but he was not paid after completing the work.

“When Manda went to remind Zimba about the money, there arose a fierce quarrel between the two that Zimba stabbed Manda in the chest.” Said she.

According to Selemani, the victim collapsed on the spot and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Postmortem revealed that Manda died of severe internal bleeding.

The deceased hails from Laluwe Village in Traditional Authority Chikwewo in Machinga district.
