VP LEAVES THE COUNTRY FOR SOUTH AFRICA

The country’s Vice President Saulosi Chilima is expected to leave the country today to represent President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at a Southern African Development Community (SADC) Double Troika Plus Two Summit taking place on September 15, 2014 in Pretoria, South Africa.

This has been disclosed in a Press statement from the office of the Vice President released on Sunday to the Press.

The Summit will discuss the latest political development in the region, particularly the Political and Security situation in the kingdom of Lesotho.

The statement further says, ‘’the meeting will also review the progress with regards to the voluntary disarmament and surrender of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR).

Chilima is expected to the leave Kamuzu International Airport anytime from now and he will return home on Tuesday 16, 2014.
