FIVE PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR MURDERING A NURSE

Five people are in police custody in Lilongwe for allegedly murdering a 26-year-old woman Faith Chimbezi who was working as a nurse at Nkhoma Mission Hospital in the district.

Lilongwe Police Publicist Kingsley Dandaula confirmed of the arrest and identified the suspects as Dokiso Soko, Thomas Banda 19, Settie Kaunda 24, Shadreck Mabvuto 21, and David Chinkhosa.

According to Dandaula, the deceased met her fate on August 31 this year on her way to one of the suspect’s home Dokiso Soko who asked her to assist him with beddings which could be used for his visitors.

Dandaula said Chembezi met the criminals at around 7 O’clock in the evening a few meters away from Soko’s house.

He said Police arrested Banda soon after the incident had happened who upon interrogations revealed his friends.

“Upon interrogation the first suspect (Banda) told police that they were hired by the firth suspect (Soko) to kill the deceased,” he said.

The suspects will appear in Court soon to answer murder charges contrary to section 209.

The deceased hails from Nyozo Village in Traditional Authority Kabudula in Lilongwe.
