A Toyota Hiace on Sunday morning around 8am caught fire at Blantyre Market Stage.
FaceofMalawi sourced through an eye witness, that the accident occurred just soon after passengers disembarked when we heard screams from the driver and efforts to rescue the driver before he got injured seemed futile. “We suspect that the cause of the fire was due to a wiring fault,” said the witness.
So far the driver of the bus sustained serious burn wounds and was rushed to Queens Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH), where his receiving treatment.
