MW POLICE HAVE WARNED MINIBUS DRIVERS OVER STOPPING AT FILLING STATIONS RATHER THAN DESIGNATED BUS DEPOTS

Malawi Police have warned all minibus operators and drivers who are failing to comply with Road Traffic rules that they will face the wrath of the law.

According to Limbe Police Publicist, Sub Inspector Chifundo Kamsunje, minibus drivers were removed from Puma and Petroda Filling stations as this was not a designated bus depot but however minibus drivers are still acting arrogant as they still continue to stop at the stations.

The move has assisted in strengthening security in Limbe as there were a lot of criminal activities and congestion but still we need minibus drivers to comply with Road Traffic rules, said Kamsunje.

On the other hand Secretary General for Minibus Owners Association (MOAM) Coxly Kamange said the move has come at a right time and asked for collective responsibility to have a suitable place for Minibus parking in Limbe.

Kamange then commended the police for enforcing the law as the place was prone to accidents.
