MAN ESCAPE FROM COURT AFTER BEING SLAPPED 14 YEARS JAIL SENTENCE FOR DEFILING STEP DAUGHTER

Drama ensued at Nkhata Bay First grade Magistrate Court in the Northern part of Malawi when the convict attempted to run away immediately the magistrate pronounced his sentence.

The convict identified as Kasiyambi Sibande, 47, was sentenced to 14-years imprisonment with hard labour for habitually defiling his 12 year old step daughter.

Just after the sentenced was announced, Sibande jumped from the court dock and started to run away but he was apprehended by the Police metres away.

This then angered the Magistrate who again slapped him with 12 months imprisonment with hard labour for attempting to escape a lawful custody.

Sibande hails from Chiwawa village, Traditional Authority Kabunduli in Nkhata Bay district.
