MALAWIANS EXPERIENCE STUNNING SUPERMOON ECLIPSE

Malawians across the country on Monday morning experienced a rare lunar event when a so-called “supermoon” coincided with a lunar eclipse.

In other parts of the world, the incident happened on Sunday night.

The supermoon phenomenon occurs when the moon is full at its perigee – the closest part of its orbit around Earth (226,000 miles), meaning it appears larger in the sky.

The moon looked so bloody and large.

The celestial event had not occurred since 1982 – and will not be repeated until 2033.
