Fierce fire has gutted down Mwanza market on the wee hours of Tuesday 03, 2015 destroying property worth millions.
According to an eyewitness who confided to FaceofMalawi said, the fire started at around 2am from one of the restaurants situated at the central point of the Market.
Deputy District Council for Mwanza, Lloyd Gonjo confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the council is currently assessing the extent of the damage.
Gonjo while applauding the vendors for their effort to put down the fire since the Council has no fire fighting vehicle, said the Council is yet to establish the cause of the fire.
