Commissioner of Police for eastern region, late Wilson Matinga will be laid to rest today Wednesday 11, 2015 at his home village Mitepa, Traditional Authority Mpama, Chirazulu.
Matinga died of high blood pressure on Monday afternoon at Malosa Hospital in Zomba.
According to National Police Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner, Rhoda Manjoro said Matinga went to conduct community policing meeting at Malosa.
She said sadly while addressing the members, he suddenly collapsed and was rushed to Malosa Hospital where he later died.
The diagnosis carried by medical doctors at the hospital revealed that Matinga was having high blood pressure (BP) problems.
“Matinga comes from Mbulumbuzi, Chiradzulu and he has survived with a wife and two children,” said Manjoro.
He graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, majoring in Economics, he was promoted as Commissioner of Police December 24, 2010.
