UDF TO SUPPORT DPP CANDIDATE IN ZOMBA CHISI CONSTITUENCY BY- ELECTION

Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that United Democratic Front (UDF) will support ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate in Zomba Chisi constituency parliamentary by-elections as the Party has not fielded in any candidate.

This was revealed on Tuesday when Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) through its Constituency Returning Officer was receiving nomination papers from candidates at Saint Pauls Teachers Development Center.

According to Information at hand, DPP has fielded Mark Botoman as its candidate for the by-elections scheduled for December 22, 2015.

Apart from DPP, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has endorsed Brazio Namakuwa as its candidate while People’s Party (PP) has featured Asma Mponda.

Felister Mpando Suman, Dyson Chimwala and Steven Chikwapulo have presented their nomination papers as independent candidates.

Zomba Chisi constituency fall vacant after the death of DPP MPb Peter Chizalo Mangulenje.
