El Chapo has been captured, after being on the run for nearly 6 months.
Mexican officials say they caught the drug kingpin after a shootout with Mexican marines in Los Mochis, Mexico. 5 suspects were reportedly killed in the gun battle and 6 others arrested. One marine was injured.
The President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto, just made the announcement.
The Prez tweeted, “Mission accomplished. We have him. I want to inform the Mexicans Joaquin Guzman Loera [El Chapo] has been arrested.”
