70 YEAR OLD MAN MURDERED OVER WITCHCRAFT IN DEDZA

Three people are in Police custody in Dedza for allegedly killing a 70-year old man who happens to be their uncle on suspicion that he was practicing witchcraft.

The development comes barely two weeks after an angry mob in Neno killed four elderly people on allegation that they killed a 17-year old girl through lightening.

Dedza Deputy Police Publicist Cassim Manda has confirmed of the development and identified the suspects as Dandaulani Nyamulani 25, Jailosi Mwalim 24 and Wiscot Mwalim.

Manda said the three will appear in court soon to answer murder charges.

All the suspects come from Mpango Village Traditional Authority Kasumbu in the district.

Recently President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika warned that his administration will not tolerate any abuse against elderly people on basing on witchcraft claims.
