Two arrested in Dowa for Possessing Illegal Medical Supply

Police in Dowa are keeping in custody William Mzunga, owner of Tiwos Private Clinic in Nambuma in the district for allegedly being found in possession of Malawi Government medical supplies believed to have been stolen from Dowa District Hospital.

According to Dowa Police Publicist Sargent Richard Kaponda the Police are also keeping in custody George Chunga, health surveillance assistant (HSA) at the same hospital on allegation that he supplied the medical supplies to the trader.

Kaponda said the two were arrested after a tip-off from well-wishers in the afternoon of Sunday 10th April 2016 at drinking joint in at the Boma.

The two will appear in court soon to answer charges of stealing Malawi Government’s medical supplies.
