Angry villagers demolish Police station in Dowa

Angry villagers in Dowa on Sunday took the law into their own hands by beating nearly to death a murder suspect kept at Dowa Police Station.

According to published reports, the angry mob demolished the Police station before attacking the murder suspect.

Dowa police spokesperson Richard Kaponda confirmed of the development on Monday in an interview with Zodiak online.

Kaponda said the murder suspected was rescued from the angry villagers by well-wishers.

The victim, Ganizani Gwani is suspected to have murdered murdered Geofrey Kansinjiro.

Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection to the incident.
