Former Kenyan First Lady Lucy Kibaki no more: Mutharika shocked

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has expressed shock over the death of former Kenyan First Lady Lucy Kibaki.

Lucy Kibaki, 75 passed on while undergoing treatment at Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London where she had been admitted after a long illness.

Writing on his officials Facebook Page, Mutharika he is greatly shocked with the demise of the former First Lady of Kenya.

“The First Lady and I join Former President Mwai Kibaki in mourning one of Kenya’s and Africa’s prominent personalities who played a huge role in transforming many lives.

“To my colleague President Uhuru Kenyatta and all Kenyans, Malawi mourns with you,” wrote Mutharika.

The 75-year-old former First Lady has hardly been seen in public since her husband, Mwai Kibaki, left office.

During the 2010 promulgation of the new Constitution, Lucy attended the historic event that was also graced by local and foreign dignitaries.
