Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that the consecration of Rev. Fr. John Ryan as Bishop of the Diocese of Mzuzu will take place on Saturday, 27th August, 2016.
This has been disclosed in a short statement post on Catholic Facebook page called ‘I am a catholic and I am proud’ seen by FOM’s reporter.
Pope Francis appointed Father Ryan on Tuesday 26, 2016 as new Bishop for Mzuzu diocese to replace late Bishop Joseph Zuza who died in road accident in Chikangawa forest on his way to Mzuzu in 2015.
Father John Ryan was a lecturer at Mzuzu University.
He is Irish and has worked in the diocese of Mzuzu since 1978.
