Cashgate convict Victor Sithole’s appeal case adjourned to June 1

The High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned to June 1 2016, the matter in which Cashgate convict Victor Sithole is appealing against his sentence and conviction.

Sithole, former government accountant assistant was sentenced to 9 years last year for allegedly being involved in the plunder of the public money amounting to MK112 million.

He was the second accused to be handed a jail sentence.

Sithole is appealing for the case, arguing the sentence is too hash for him so he want the Judge to reduce the sentence.

The plunder of public funds at Capitol Hill came to light after the shooting of former budget director Paul Mphwiyo at his house in area 43 in the capital Lilongwe
