Malawi’s fuel tanker burnt to ashes in Mozambique

Information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that a tanker carrying fuel for Malawi has been burnt down in Mozambique.

Petroleum Importers Limited General Manager Enwell Kadango has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the incident happened on Wednesday.

He said the incident happened at the area between Honde and Banduza following a civil war between Mozambique Liberation Front (Frelimo) and Mozambique National Resistance (Renamo).

“I can confirm that one of our fuel tanker that carried petrol has been set on fire together with other trucks from Mozambique,” said Kadango.

The development comes barely a month after four Malawians were shot dead in Mozambique by unknown attackers.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is yet to comment on the matter.
