Three Children of the same family in Mangochi are reported dead after eating poisonous tubers which they thought were cocoa.
Police in Mangochi have confirmed of the incident, saying the incident happened at Kalichero Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chimwala.
According to information at hand, the three Children aged 15, seven and four were looking for goats in their parents garden on Tuesday while there the two girls dug out some tubers which the prepared while waiting for their parents.
When parents arrived in found the Children battling for their lives and they were very weak.
One Child died the same day at Mangochi District Hospital while the other two died on Wednesday.
