Naked protest updates: Kalindo says all is set

Mulanje South Member of Parliament Bon Kalindo popularly known as Winiko has said all is set for Thursday nude protest against albino killings in the country.

Speaking during a media briefing on Tuesday in the capital Lilongwe, Kalindo said he is ready to be arrested if the police dare to interfere with the planned naked demos.

Kalindo said the law enforcers should not dictate what people should wear on the day.

He then urged Malawians across the country to come out in large numbers and show solidarity to people living with albinism who are being hunted like wild animals.

“We are now calling Malawians to support the demonstrations which will take place on Thursday, 23 June, 2016. We will converge at Area 18 round about where we will match peacefully to the Parliament,” said Kalindo.

Kalindo who was franked by human right activist during the briefing also disclosed that that there is a slight changed on the demonstration, saying everyone who is going to take part in the protest should put on underwear not in birth suit as earlier communicated.

In a related development, students from Mzuzu University will to day stage a peaceful demonstration against albino killings.
