UNIMA students to hold vigil at University Council in Zomba over fee hike

University of Malawi students will today start holding vigil at University Council’s office in Zomba to force the management to rescind its decision of hiking tuition fee for both mature and normal entry students.

The development comes barely days after the Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MoEST ) refused the students’ call to intervene on the fee hike.

MoEST said the mandate of hiking or decreasing the fees is not in its hands.

UNIMA Student Union President has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press of the strike.
