Suspected thief beaten to death in Mbayani

An angry mob has beaten to death a suspected thief in Mbyani Township in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Blantyre police deputy spokesperson Andrew Mayawo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the incident happened on Wednesday night.

According to Mayawo, the suspect was caught with two electronic appliances (Speaker and DVD player).

Mayawo told this publication that the remains the deceased have been taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital for postmortem.

Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection to the incident.
