Mutharika reported to be ill: Kasaila denies the rumours

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Francis Kasaila has denied reports hovering in the social media claiming that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has been taken ill, saying the reports are untrue.

On Monday, reports were all over both on WhatsApp and Facebook saying that Mutharika has been taken ill and is receiving treatment at one of the hospitals in the United States of America.

But in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) Monday evening, Kasaila denied the reports, saying Mutharika is in good health.

Mutharika left the country on Thursday last week for United States of America to attend this years United Nation General Assembly.

On Sunday, Mutharika convened the High Level meeting of the Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunities where he urged World leaders to put more effort and resources in Education sector in a bid to break the cycle of poverty across the globe.
