Ugly face of blackout in Malawi: Alliance One warn consumers of ‘salmonella’ that causes food poisoning

As persistent power blackouts continue in the country, Alliance One has warned consumers across the country not buy meat or meat products anyhow, saying there is an outbreak of salmonella and other organisms that cause severe food poisoning.

This has been disclosed in a Press statement circulating in the social media signed by Human Resource Director Aubrey H Mvula seen by FaceofMalawi.
Mvula in the statement said several cases of such poisoning have been reported.

“Please advise all your families and friends to take necessary precautions when selecting, purchasing and handling meat and meat products for human consumption,” reads in part the statement.

Recently business players in the country expressed concern over persistent blackout, saying the condition is not favouring them.

Most of them complained that their products are rotting.
