Cashgate thief Trizza Namathanga Senzani to be released from prison on October 6

Information sourced by Faceofmalawi indicates that first cashagate convict Trizza Namathanga Senzani will be released from jail on October 6 2016 due to good behavior demonstrated while in prison.

Senzani, former Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism was sentenced to nine months for a charge of theft and three years for money laundering on October 6 2014 and the sentences were supposed to run concurrently.

But information indicates that Senzani will be released from prison after serving a third of her three year nine months sentence.

Commissioner for prisons responsible for operations Masauko Wisikoti confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local radio station.

“We did not receive any complaints from the OC of Maula prison concerning her,”said Wisikoti.

Senzani was supposed to finish her sentence on October 6, 2017
