A 21 year old Woman is in Police custody in Chikwawa for allegedly burning her 4 year old step daughter with a charcoal burner.
Chikwawa Police Public Relations Officer, Mark Munama confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the suspect as Slocy Juli.
According to Munama, the suspect allegedly burnt the child because she was playing on dust soon after she bathed her.
The suspect will appear in court soon.
Juli hails from Sawali village Traditional Authority (T/A) Nsamala in the eastern district of Balaka.
