Carlsberg Malawi hikes prices of soft drinks

Barely a month after Malawi Bureau of Standard (MBS) banned Frozy drinks in the country for failing to conform to standards, Carlsberg Malawi Limited has hiked prices of soft drinks effective November 28, 2016.

This has been disclosed in a press statement released and published in the Nation Newspaper of November 28, 2016.

According to the statement, the price of a 300 milliliters bottle of Coca-cola, Fanta and sprite has been hiked from MK220.00 to MK250.000 while Cocopina 300m bottle is now selling at MK220.00.

While a 2 littre bottle of SOBO squash is now selling at MK1,700 from the current price of MK1,500.

Carlsberg Malawi has attributed the price hike to the current economic down turn which has seen prices of goods on the market going up.
